Quick Tip: Salad To-Go

Something I do to save time during the week is to pre-make a few days worth of salads to take to work with me for lunch. It's really easy, takes only about 10 minutes to put it all together and is a really satisfying lunch option without having to put a lot of effort into preparations.

Another great thing about doing this is that you can just use whatever you have on hand. I always throw in some seeds and a protein like chicken, sardines or hot dogs (yes, sometimes that's all I have on hand and they're surprisingly not bad on salads!).

All you have to do is to make sure you separate the delicate salad leaves from the moisture of the salad dressing. So, start by putting in the salad dressing first, than layer with moisture-rich things like cucumbers, cheese, olives, etc followed by drier crudites like carrots, radishes, or seeds, Next comes the protein and then the salad greens. Put a lid on it and store it in the refrigerator until you are ready to take it to work and eat it. When it comes time to eat it, shake it up until the dressing from the bottom of the jar gets thoroughly mixed throughout the salad.

Voila! A quick, nutritious and delicious salad that you can just grab and run out the door with! Enjoy!
